Ambushed on the Road to Glory
Finding The Way Through Jesus' Parables

Book Description

"For many years I have pondered a problem: How do people become good? I have approached this issue from the vantage of a philosopher. I've read the classical texts of twentieth century secularism, including those of Nietzsche, Marx, and Freud, and the skeptics that underlie them. If one believes those thinkers it is difficult, if not impossible, to hear the voice of God." Buford presents the parables as sticks of dynamite. They blow us out of our established, comfortable, religious patterns that offer an illusion of security and success. In contrast to the tedious and stagnant way, the parables present us with Jesus' invitation to hear and experience the vitality of His Way. A surprise awaits unsuspecting believers!
