Book Reviews
From a pastoral perspective, Chris has done a fine job inviting us to a daily walk with God, so that we can reclaim our true identity in Christ, whose light shines, as he says, “through the cracks of our clay.” I was pleasantly surprised by Chris’s openness and realistic assessment of the human self in need of a Savior, who offers to be our companion through pain, grief, sufferings, transitions, addictions, or in all of life. His view of God is refreshing and uplifting.
I like how Chris guides us through the practices of the disciplines of Presence, covenant, love, Lectio Divina, kindness, sleep, Sabbath, discernment, and so many others. He is aiming at being “seasoned with the salt of Christ” no matter what. Overall, I see A Daily Walk With God as a formative tool that will warm the hearts of readers.
