Marketing Coordinator
Position Summary
Smyth & Helwys Books and NextSunday Resources are wholly owned subsidiaries of Celebrating Grace, Inc., a nonprofit ecumenical publisher based in Macon, Georgia. Together they produce Bible study curriculum, books, and resources for churches and individuals across mainline Protestant traditions.
The Marketing Coordinator supports marketing efforts across both imprints, assisting in the planning, creation, and execution of campaigns that grow brand awareness, deepen customer engagement, and drive sales. This role works closely with editorial, sales, and leadership to keep marketing initiatives moving. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and organized, with genuine fluency in Christian publishing and church culture.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Product Marketing
- Work directly with authors, agents, and editorial staff to execute marketing plans and build author platforms.
- Coordinate and execute launch campaigns for books and curriculum lines.
- Create and coordinate copywriting, design, and creative content for email campaigns, websites, and social media.
- Maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms and materials.
- Collaborate with product managers on promotional materials and targeted campaigns.
Digital Marketing
- Execute digital marketing across web, email, and social media platforms.
- Grow and manage brand communities for all imprints across social channels.
- Support SEO/SEM and GEO efforts, digital advertising, and performance analytics; help translate data into actionable improvements.
- Support e-commerce marketing, including product listings and landing page optimization.
Customer & Community Engagement
- Build and steward relationships with churches, bookstores, distributors, and partner organizations.
- Coordinate and staff conference exhibits, trade events, and direct-to-church marketing initiatives. Minimal travel required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- 2–3 years of marketing experience, preferably in publishing, church resources, and/or faith-based media.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing campaigns for books and/or curriculum resources.
- Familiarity with church life and ministry contexts, especially mainline Protestant traditions, strongly preferred.
Skills
- Brand development, storytelling, and audience segmentation.
- Digital marketing platforms: email marketing tools, social media management, CMS, and Google Analytics.
- Design proficiency (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent). Experience working in Magento a plus.
- SEO/SEM/GEO best practices and e-commerce performance optimization.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to adapt voice for diverse audiences.
- Budget management and data tracking; comfortable translating metrics into strategy.
- Collaborative working style with strong interpersonal skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
- This position may be filled in person at our office in Macon, Georgia, or fully remote anywhere in the United States.
- Salary in the $45k–$60k range, commensurate with education and experience.
