In the Beginning God

Modern Science and the Christian Doctrine of Creation, Regent’s Study Guides 3
John Weaver

In this book, John Weaver works out his belief that modern discoveries in science, especially in cosmology and geology, have given new life to arguments for design and purpose in the universe. While not proving the existence of God, such features as the 'fine tuning' of the origin of the universe, the 'Anthropic Principle', and the non-computable nature of the human mind show the reasonableness of belief in a Creator God.

Dr. John Weaver was Senior Lecturer in Geology at Derby College of Higher Education (now Derby University) from 1971-1978. After ten years as minister of a Baptist Church in Northamptonshire, he served as Fellow and Tutor in Pastoral Theology at Regent's Park College, Oxford.
