MACON, Georgia June 9, 2006 Smyth & Helwys announced today that the full three year cycle of FaithSteps materials will be made available on CD-ROM. Disks for the September-December trimester will be available beginning in late June as FaithSteps on CD, Volume 1. The remaining volumes (2-9) will be released in the coming months.
Each volume of the series will contain four months of undated Bible study materials in Adobe Reader (PDF) format, ready for printing in color or grayscale. The materials are identical to the versions that were previously published in printed form, including teaching guides, leaflet pages, and resource kit items. Age groups included are: Infants to Twos, Threes to Kindergarten, 1st-2nd Grades, 3th-4th Grades, and Preteen. CDs are $75 each, and provide the purchasing church with a license to print the included files in whatever quantity is needed for their ministry.
In the Fall of 2005, Smyth & Helwys announced their decision to cease the print publication of FaithSteps in May 2006. FaithSteps churches were also provided with a free CD-ROM containing materials for all age groups to help cover the May August 2006 trimester. “We received an unexpectedly high number of rquests for the May-August CD-ROM, as well as requests for the entire series in digital form,” explained David Cassady, executive vice president & publisher of Smyth & Helwys. “When churches speak, we do our best to listen, and we quickly decided to begin FaithSteps so that it would be undated and useful on CD-ROM.” Individual units will also ultimately be available for download through NextSunday.com.
FaithSteps on CD, Volume 1 will be available for sale at the Smyth & Helwys exhibit at the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s General Assembly meeting June 22-24 in Atlanta. The resource can also be ordered via phone or the Smyth & Helwys website beginning June 22.
