Faithful to the Scriptures

Sunday school materials often seem to alternate between trendy issues and denominational emphases, when most adults simply want solid Bible study. Adults want Bible study that is grounded in the text of Scripture and that draws on excellent pastoral commentary and biblical scholarship. They also seek a well-balanced study through the Scriptures. Adults know that study will be meaningful as long as the Scripture is at the center of the lesson. Being faithful to the Scriptures matters.

Relevant to Life Issues

A desire to live faithful lives is the primary reason adults seek Bible study. Today’s adults are driven by full schedules, pummeled by constant media messages, and taxed by real demands at work and at home. They turn to Bible study to discover direction, hope, wonder, values, and wisdom. They turn to the Scriptures because a growing faith matters.

Freedom Matters

Adults know that beliefs are important. They know that their convictions about the nature of God, the Bible, and church matter. At the same time, they want the freedom to read the Bible and discuss the issues with fellow believers as they express their beliefs. Some Sunday school materials seem to have all the answers and expect us simply to accept their perspective. We believe that adults want the freedom to read, to interpret, and to form their beliefs. Adults want Sunday school materials that help guide their quest for a healthy and growing faith.
