Imagine yourself as a more spiritual person. Your days are filled with holy moments of praise, solitude, and devotion to scripture. Now picture a typical day in your life: rushing to work, facing demanding deadlines, and wanting to spend time doing things other than the things you are doing. How do we get from where we are to where we sense God wants us to be? This is ultimately an issue of spirituality.
At its best, spirituality is a response to the hunger of God. The key to genuine Christian spirituality is not navel-gazing or esoteric knowledge, but the centering of our lives on Christ. Becoming spiritual is not an accomplishment, like getting into shape or earning another degree. Spirituality is accepting the gifts God has given so that we can know Christ.
