Research in Religious Education celebrates the considerable achievements in empirical studies in the field since the early 1960s. Thirty-three key researchers from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, and Israel have collaborated to provide an up-to-date map on religious education, to illustrate the variety of ways in which different research perspectives can illuminate the practice of religious education, and to shape future research. Topics include: childhood spirituality, teaching-learning processes, reasoning, religiosity and self-esteem, science and creationism, attitudes and values, and gender differences.
