This hymnal and worship supplement celebrates the Christian heritage with a varied selection of hymns, litanies, and prayers written by Christians past and present. This inclusive collection draws both musical and non-musical resources for Christian organizations within the United States and others in Brazil, Canada, England, Indonesia, Kenya, Latin American, and South Africa. The hymnal contains more than 100 items that reflect the diversity of free church tradition thought from Harry Emerson Fosdick, Adoniram Judson, Walter Rauschenbusch, and Anne Steele to Marian Wright Edelman and Ken Medema.

C. Michael Hawn has been a professor of sacred music at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, since 1992. He received degrees form Wheaton College (IL) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to SMU, he taught church music for fifteen years at two Southern Baptist seminaries and served four Baptist churches as minister of music.
